A group of talented players have been selected for the Western U21 Netball team as they prepare for the 2009 New Zealand Age Group Championships.
The team is incredibly exciting with some high expectations as it consists of two New Zealand U21 players plus four further NZU21 Squad member. Coach Vanda Buttars is thrilled to be taking young players with so much experience away with her to the Nationals.
Exciting Central Pulse defender hannah Broederlow will be coming back to her region to play in the Age Group Championships - her skill and experience will be invaluable to the team. She will be joined by New Zealand U21 team mate Alanah Cassidy who slots into the shooting circle.
Defender Jodi Beaumont, mid-courters Natalie Moore and Sam Durie-Aranga and shooter Te Paea Selby-Rickit have all benefitted from time with the New Zealand U21 Squad, plus Western's Lois Muir Challenge team. They will be looking forward to working together to achieve great on court results. Joining them will be Lois Muir Challenge team mates - shooter Amber Bellringer and experienced Western U21 defender Sam Burkhart.
The team of ten is completed with the recall of Western U21 defender Hannah Kelly and Manawatu mid courter Abby Hull.
The Western U21 team will play in the New Zealand Age Group Championships to be held at Trusts Stadium, Waitakere City from July 6-9.
