Alanah Cassidy and Hannah Broederlow (currently playing for the Central Pulse) have been named in the New Zealand U21 team who will compete at the 2009 World Youth Netball Championships to be held in the Cook Islands 11-20 August.
The NZ U21 Team was named after trials earlier this week and will now come together for two training camps to be held in June and July to finish off their preperation prior to leaving for the World Netball Championships in early August.
Two netballers from the Western region have also been named in the reserves for the team and they are Jodi Beaumont and Larrissa Harrison (currently playing for the Central Pulse). Both Beaumont and Cassidy had siginificant parts to play in Western's successful Lois Muir Challenge campaign earlier this year.
NZ U21 coach Yvette McCausland-Durie said she was pleased with the depth of talent and versatility in the team and was looking forward to developing further combinations within the side over the next 12 weeks.
New Zealand won gold at the previous Netball World Championships in 2005.
